Quitman, Texas is a small town located in the northern part of the state. The town was founded in 1872 by William F. Quincy and is the county seat of Wood County. As of 2010, Quitman has a population of 2,293.
Situated on the crossroads of highways 37, 154 and 154A, Quitman is an easy drive from both Dallas and Houston.
